Ability to Event Indicator Preferences Directly in Planner’s Calendar

Users can now save their calendar indicator preferences directly in their Planners. Calendar indicators show whether there is an event on a particular calendar date. Preferences are configurable by the user via a setting in Planner, according to options made available by their administrator.

Out-of-the-box options include highlights for activities and orders, but these can be extended to include other custom indicators, as well. When selected, dates with corresponding events are marked by a blue dot. When multiple event types are enabled, the Calendar Settings allow the user to choose the event type they want to see highlighted.

Previously, the settings didn’t persist between sessions, so users needed to re-enable their preferences each time they logged in. With this update, user preferences are saved until changed by the user as part of app personalization. However, as these settings are maintained locally rather on the server, so deleting the app or its data will remove these settings.

This update also fixes an issue with Calendar refresh, where indicators weren’t updated immediately to reflect changes in the user’s Planner (e.g., when activities / events were moved to another date). The Calendar now refreshes immediately upon any change to the list of saved events.
